Planned gifts are donations that are planned while you are living and can be given during your lifetime or upon your passing. These gifts might include donating securities or other assets, naming charities as beneficiaries of your RRPS/RRIF/TFSA or life insurance policies, or leaving a gift in your Will.

Think of your planned gift as a mustard seed. At the Christian School Foundation, our goal is to identify fifty planned gifts for each of our member schools. Why do we want to identify these gifts? There are a couple of reasons.

God is blessing Christian schools across Canada in many ways, and planned gifts can encourage school leaders as they move from a fear of scarcity into a confidence of God’s abundant provision. Knowing they have your support allows them to strategize and dream bigger, envision projects and programs that could impact several generations of students.

Additionally, your decision to disclose your planned gift can inspire other supporters. Just as a small seed grows and spreads, your act of generosity will grow and spread and can encourage friends, family and community members to consider their own philanthropic contributions. This ripple effect can create a culture of giving, motivating more people to support causes that matter to them and greatly amplifying the overall impact.
