John Rozema Teaching Excellence Awards

Most teachers want their students to be excellent. But what does that mean? Unfortunately, many teachers and schools today have a limited understanding of “excellence” as academic performance.

Cardus is offering the John Rozema Award for Teacher Excellence in partnership with the Christian School Foundation.

Cardus is committed to teachers who have a more robust sense of excellence that includes but also goes beyond performance and towards nurturing student character, engaging the local community, and improving school culture.

Do you know an Ontario teacher or group of teachers who promote this kind of excellence in their students and schools and communities? Nominate them today for one of three possible John Rozema Teaching Excellence Awards, designed to encourage a robust excellence in Ontario’s private Christian schools.

In 2016 three awards are available: group excellence award ($8,000), excellence in elementary teaching award ($5,000), and excellence in secondary teaching award ($5,000).

Nomination forms and portfolios must be submitted by 5pm ET on April 1, 2016.
