Who we are

Phil Bandstra
School Rep

Phil is a shareholder of Bandstra Transportation Systems Ltd for the past 33 years and is currently serving as President and CEO. He is part of the ownership team bringing this BC based Trucking firm from a small carrier from the 1960’s into one of the largest regional trucking firms in BC. He also has been active in the BC Trucking Association for the past 10 years and currently serving as the Chairman of the Board. He has previously served as the chairman of the Ebenezer Canadian Reformed School Association for 5 ½ years. He has served as a deacon in the Smithers Canadian Reformed Church in the past and is currently serving as an elder for the first time.

Ken Krabbendam, MBA, CPA, CGA
School Rep

Ken is the Vice President, Chief Financial Officer for Young Life of Canada; a Registered Charity in Canada and in the United States. Young Life is a Christian mission to teenagers, building genuine relationships with them, caring for them, and sharing the Christian faith. Ken’s academic credentials include a Master of Business Administration degree from Simon Fraser University, a Chartered Professional Accountant designation, and a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from the University of the Fraser Valley. He is a prior chairman of the board at John Calvin Christian School, and served as treasurer of the Reformed Bible College board. He is currently serving as chairman of consistory and council in the Canadian Reformed Church at Sardis, having completed prior terms as elder in Chilliwack.

Jerome Lengkeek, MDevF, BBA, RHFAC
School Rep/Secretary

Jerome is a senior consultant and social venture developer at Urban Matters. He works with social purpose businesses to help them through the start-up phase and accelerate their growth and impact. His project work has included business case and business plan development, co-working space and mixed-use development research, and social finance research. Jerome’s professional background also includes impact investing and development finance consulting. His academic credentials include a Masters in Development Finance from Stellenbosch University (South Africa), Bachelor of Business Admin from Thompson Rivers University, the Rick Hansen Foundation RHFAC accessibility professional program, and the Impact Investing Programme from Oxford University.

Jerome served three terms on the board for William of Orange Christian School in the roles of treasurer, secretary and chair. He has served as an elder in the Chilliwack and Cloverdale Canadian Reformed Church, and is currently serving as an elder at Refuge (Langley).

Harry Moes, B. Ed, MAAL
School Rep

Harry retired from Credo Christian High School (Langley, BC) June 2016. He considers it to have been a privilege and blessing to be able to serve the reformed community as a school administrator for almost his entire 42-year tenure.

Sitting at the table of the Federation of Independent School Associations (FISA); Pathway to Teacher Education Scholarship and Dogwood District Authority Scholarship Committees; and Ministry funding and curricular reviews, allowed the voice of independent faith-based school to be articulated and shared.

Harry currently assists the Ministry of Education by chairing Provincial and International External Evaluation Inspection teams; contracts nationally with Canadian Reformed School Associations conducting administrative and school evaluations; and serves as a Director of the Credo Christian High School Foundation.

The Moes family are charter members of the Langley Canadian Reformed Church and Harry has served in the capacity of elder.

Dave Pruim
Director, Chair

Dave holds a BA from Trinity Western University, and is a CPA,CMA. He has spent his entire career in manufacturing industries and has been employed with North West Rubber since 2013 as Chief Financial Officer. Dave brings expertise in finance, treasury, legal, insurance and IT to the Heritage Foundation.

Dave has served multiple terms on school boards in Yarrow, Winnipeg, and Langley and currently serves on church council. He is also on the board of The Mutual Fire Insurance company of BC, chairing their enterprise risk committee.

Greg van Popta, LL.B.
School Rep

Greg is a lawyer and partner at McQuarrie Hunter LLP. His law practice includes all aspects of real estate law, with a particular focus on land development. In his work he assists his clients in securing the land, financing and approvals necessary for the development and construction of new residential and commercial developments through British Columbia.

Greg studied at Trinity Western University and the University of Western Australia before obtaining his Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of British Columbia in 2002. Greg is an active member of the Langley Canadian Reformed Church, where he has served as both a deacon and an elder.
